Calcofluor M2R (1µg/ml) will label fungi cell walls

Fungi have these two common forms: single-cell yeast (L) and filamentous (R). Calcofluor will identify both. The key morphological points are bright bud scars visible in yeast and bright cross-walls in filamentous. Yeast is around 5µm and egg-shaped. In BF they show inclusions, and rarely budding. When stained with DAPI the nucleus will fluoresce.
