Insti-Fluor Multi Color test slides
Insti-Fluor Test Slides for detecting bacteria using fluorescence microscopy. These slides are pre-loaded with either DAPI, SYTO, or PI.
Remove the seal top from all three slides
Add 10µl sample to the center of each well
Spread the sample over the well surface
Dry at 42C for about 5min
While the samples are drying set your pipetter to 7µl and find the immersion oil
We use Zeiss oil with a n=1.518
You may use any oil, just make sure it has NO INTRINSIC FLUORESCENCE
Finished drying
Add 7µl immersion oil to the center of the well
It's better to under-estimate the volume than over-fill.
Apply the coverslips
Be careful as you have only one try. The coverslips cannot be removed.
Gently press the coverslip all around to create a permanent seal.
The slide can now be decontaminated as per the usual SOP.
